Where we are

Hollie Maddox

Pilates Instructor

After a successful career in marketing and branding for the likes of Liberty London, the V&A and Royal Academy of Arts London, Hollie moved to Copenhagen and retrained in Pilates:

After having my son, I had recurrent lower back pain, and my physiotherapist recommended I try Pilates. This is where my love of reformer Pilates was born. I strengthened my body, built mobility and gained flexibility. After years of self practise I decided I wanted to become a teacher myself. I am classically trained with Reeform Studios in Copenhagen, as well as completing further training with Polestar Pilates in London.

I am positive, fun and friendly, and passionate about well-being. I enjoy building bonds and making strong relationships with my clients, working with them to achieve their goals. My classes strengthen, build flexibility and calm the mind as well as the body. Seeing my clients grow in confidence and strength brings me great pride and satisfaction.  My greatest success is when a client leaves their session with a smile and a sense of achievement.

‘I believe Pilates should be fun and functional. My aim is to educate my clients on the essence of the movement as this stays with them in everyday life. Once a client starts to incorporate Pilates principles into what they do daily, they begin to move better. This translates into more energy, less pain, improved endurance and strength, better mood, increased confidence  and a sense of empowerment.

The six Pilates principles are: Breath, Concentration, Control, Precision, Centre and Flow. My goal is to help you to work on all the principles each session.

In her spare time, Hollie enjoys travel, food and the arts. You’ll usually find her walking in the woods, growing on her allotment, and visiting exhibitions or creating works in clay.
