APPI Pilates Instructor, Matwork and Reformer, BASI Matwork Instructor, Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist, Bachelors Degree with Honours in Mechanical Engineering
I discovered Pilates in 2005 during my second pregnancy and immediately felt the benefit of it, especially relating to those pregnancy niggles. After my daughter was born, I discovered that I had far less back issues than after my first pregnancy. When my original teacher left the area, I was lucky enough to meet another inspiring teacher who taught the APPI method. This was exactly what I was looking for. I found the combination of soft tissue therapy and Pilates to be extremely effective for my clients. I took the plunge and in 2016 I completed the BASI Mat Intensive Teacher Training. Soon after I expanded my knowledge with the APPI Bridging course.
My passion is to encourage everyone to move more freely, with less discomfort and I believe that regular Pilates can help achieve this. I like to have fun with the exercises, play with the movement and where possible relate it to ‘real’ life. Over the years the benefits of Pilates have become clear to me and it is a great honour to pass on my knowledge. I am continually studying and learning, aiming to keep up to date and abreast with my Pilates training so my clients receive the best.
Outside of work I love to run and chat, preferably together, drink tea, eat chocolate and dance badly.
