After breaking my leg and injuring my ACL while skiing in January 2024, I was referred to APPI Wimbledon in March. Since then, I have attended physiotherapy sessions almost every week and have seen consistent improvements in my strength, pain levels, and confidence in returning to normal activities. My rehabilitation focused on knee extension, flexion, and overall leg strength, all of which have improved significantly over time. The team at APPI is incredibly friendly and supportive – something that made a huge difference during my recovery. I am truly grateful for their expertise and encouragement.
One of my biggest concerns was whether I would ever be able to ski again, either due to physical limitations or fear of re-injury. Thankfully, APPI introduced me the Ski Performance Clinic with Hannah Hobbs, which I started in November in preparation for a ski trip planned for January 2025. The clinic has been invaluable in helping me build the functional strength and balance needed for skiing, and I’ve seen remarkable progress. In preparation for my trip, we focused on building functional strength, and she also provided me with warm-up and cooldown exercises to use while skiing. These made a significant difference in how much I was able to ski and helped me manage pain levels effectively. Most importantly, with Hannah’s guidance and reassurance, I felt confident in my ability to return to the slopes.
I’m happy to say that, exactly one year after my accident, I was back skiing at the same resort. This would not have been possible without the strength and confidence I gained through my physiotherapy sessions at APPI. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
