Kelly Klein

Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist
BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy

Kelly graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2015 and has since gained a wide range of clinical experience in a number of areas – until specialising in Paediatrics five years ago. Kelly has worked in paediatric units at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, The Portland Hospital for Women’s and Children and most recently at the highly specialised Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.

Kelly’s treatment areas include children who have acquired acute injuries, have balance and co-ordination difficulties, hypermobility, scoliosis and joint and muscle pain. Kelly incorporates Pilates exercises and principals into her treatment sessions – as proprioception is an important part in building body awareness and strengthening. To keep the children engaged Kelly aims to make the sessions fun, build a trusting relationship with them and get the whole family involved in moving and staying active.

“Musculo-skeletal problems in children are more common than people expect. They can have a big influence on children, their sleep hygiene and their bodies as they are growing and developing. Physio is therefore aimed at reducing pain, improving strength, fitness, posture and balance. Educating children and empowering them to take responsibility for their own bodies is a big part of the treatment session.”
