Alex Parford
Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, Running Coach, Pilates Instructor
BSc Physiotherapy MHCPC MCSP
Alex graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 2012. After completing his degree and gaining registration with the Health Professionals Council, Alex has worked in a number of different areas, including the NHS, private practice and professional sport. Specialising in sport injuries, Alex is an experienced running coach and has worked with many high-level runners and triathletes. Through this he has developed a strong understanding of running biomechanics and the tools needed to return from injury and improve performance. Alex has a passion for educating his clients to make themselves better. Whether this is through mobility work, strengthening, Pilates or running coaching, he believes that teaching and educating a patient well is the best form of Physiotherapy.
Outside of work, Alex likes to immerse himself in all things sport, playing, supporting and motivating others. He enjoys rugby, running, cycling and Muay Thai – as well as going to festivals and listening to live music.
Undergoing rehab treatment with Alex for a chronic hip injury has been a transformational experience. When I came to APPI I was in constant pain and didn’t think I’d ever get better. Now, I’m almost pain free and am so much stronger and fitter. Alex has also turned me into a runner which is something that I always wanted to do, but didn’t think I’d be able to – and now I can! The rehab service is grounded in expertise, empathy and professionalism and has changed my life immeasurably. A Ripley
